Excellent program. Even better that it is now part of TripAdvisor.

I use Open Table a lot and love it, this is the European equivalent; however it is just not "up to speed" yet. Confirmation of reservations, booking of loyalty points, and changes in reservations are cumbersome and time consuming. In fact, you cannot change a reservation, you must cancel and start over. I suspect much is due to smaller restaurants, restaurant equipment not connected to technology, etc. The app shows times that are not available or they say available then cancel your reservation, you show up at the restaurant and they didnt know you are coming, etc., etc. It will probably be good in a couple of years; for now, just call or take a chance. This app works fine, it is the actual service that needs flexibility and maturity.

Particularly in Paris. None of the objections of the earlier review (which does not say where they were using the service). Only available in larger cities in France but lots of really good discount deals where it is available.

This app is like Open Table for Europe. i used the web version extensively while traveling in France two years ago and found some great restaurants. Zero glitches - each restaurant had our reservation when we arrived. Unfortunately this app version leaves some obvious gaps . In the web version, you can copy the text into a translation program to understand what you are ordering, but for some reason, the app will not allow you to copy!?? Which brings us to - why not a direct link to a translation program? The app ( like the current web version) only gives a small sampling of the menuChef recommends" not a full menu.

I booked with a discount to be told by restaurant no discount. No cust service provided. Bad experience

I have an updated iPhone 5S. I’ve tried to use TheFork app numerous times over the past year. If it makes it past the opening screen without freezing because of the popup “rate the last restaurant” screen, it will quit randomly, and there are “never” any restaurants nearby (central Paris) though the location setting is properly activated. I have to quit in frustration and navigate to the website every. single. time. This app has only brought me frustration and provides no utility what so ever.

This app used to be a great informational tool, but now its about pushing whatever garbage restaurant pays them more. You can literally type in the name of a restaurant and it will call up a bunch of junk but not the restaurant you want. Then the next screen is to "book a table". Um....its lunch and Im not going to be making reservations. In fact, Im going to research a few and make a last minute decision. Unfortunately, this app is very incomplete (old info, missing restaurants)....youre better off avoiding this app altogether. It has been "Trip Advisorized" (i.e., credibility killed by over the top marketing for bad choices).
